Travel with chin2 - Chilika - The brackish water lagoon

Chilika Lake in Odisha is Asia's biggest and worlds 2nd brackish water lagoon .situated in Ganjam district. The lake is separated from the Bay of Bengal hinted at one of the greenest ecosystems in the name of chilika . Chilika was another name for the beauty of barley, the whole world knows the name for incomparable beauty, Apart from that, it was known for sunrise and sunset views. more number of people visit chilika because of this splendid view 

 My trip to chilika 

  

Every time when I used to go to Bhubaneshwar by train, there was a Chilika Lake through the window of the train and I thought I would see its beauty. I used to see only one side of the lake and wondered when there would be a chance to roam the entire lake.  My home town Which was just 60 km away from Chilika Lake , one day I and a friend of mine planned together and went out to visit chilika. Chilika is also famous for migrant birds. We reached Chilika by 8 in the morning. We book the ticket and took the entry to Barkul. After reaching Barakul, we roamed many places via boat 

Places to visit Chilika - 

 1) Barkul OTDC - Barkul OTDC which is located by the side of NH 5 at a distance of 150 km from  Bhubaneswar airport. from the airport, anyone can book rented cars to visit barkul . In barkul There are both govt and private operators. from there you can rent a boat and visit many places. The first place we visit was Nalabana 

2) Nalabana - From Barkul OTDC we were plan to visit Nalabana. Nalabana which was famous for migrant birds. history says over 11 lakh birds belonging to a total of more than 180 species have visited nalabana every year. And what we heard was the truth, as many birds like the place made that place even more beautiful. During winter month (Nov-dec) this place is became favorite place for migrant birds.

 3) Breakfast Island -  Our next destination is Breakfast Island. It is the small structure made in the chilika lake. if you visit chilika from the Barkul side you can see a small structure made home. It is 15 min travel from Barkul OTDC. The only name is such - no breakfast is available . in British government times Britishers visited this place and they have their breakfast on this small structured house. The main attraction is this structure is very beautiful and clearly visible from the middle of the lake

 Here are some  ways to visit chilika from Bhubaneswar (capital of Odisha)

By train - You just come to Bhubaneswar Railway station from there you book taxi or cabs (Both ola, uber are available but local service is cheaper.

 By Flight - Barkul OTDC is 105 km away  From Bhubneswar International Airport. several cab and taxi are available from the airport to Chilika
